While looking at many different type foundries and type specimen books I was very inspired by the way typefaces can be seen not only as letters, glyphs and numbers but shapes, forms and abstract marks. Based off of the TedTalk by Paula Scher, "Design is Serious not Solemn," my type specimen book showcased different ways of being playful and technical with typography. Through each spread you see different categories where typefaces are described, taken apart and played around with the text from the TedTalk flowing along each side of the book.
